Spring Term 2008

The children of Ash Class visited Whatley Quarry as part of their topic on rocks and soils. They had a fantastic time testing rocks and finding out about their uses. They also took a tour of the quarry and found out how rock is extracted.

The cross country team competed at Millfield School in Street. Well done to all those that took part!

The children of Acorn Class visited Bristol Zoo. They had a super time finding out about where penguins live and how they look after their young.

In early February we were visited by a story teller from Cumbria, Taffy Thomas. He told us riddles and we got to choose stories based on the animals on his special coat. Many thanks to Taffy for a wonderful afternoon.

The children of Maple Class went to watch a production of Hamlet at the Octagon Theatre.

We enjoyed watching the drama club presentation of 'Alice'. Many thanks to Mrs Barlow, Mrs Fradley and all of the cast for all their hard work

Willow Class went to see the SS Great Britain as part of their work on Isambard Kingdom Brunel. They had an excellent time touring the ship and learning what life was like on board. Many thanks to all the adults that came along and helped make it such a memorable day.

Dance Club represented the school exceptionally well at Whitstone’s Celebration of dance evening yesterday. Miss Rowe is particularly proud of her dancers – thanks to her and Mrs Roost for their input, and to parents for their notes!
